Conversant Initiative

With an overwhelming rural population, India is aptly represented by its countryside. In this context, Conversant has found a niche in wholeheartedly supporting non-governmental organisations (NGOs) that work towards rural community empowerment and sustainable development. Performing NGOs are well versed with the challenges faced by the rural people. But they need a platform which will help them realize the targets.

Further, there persists the problem of funds. Our endeavour is to establish a link among these organisations and also with the various funding agencies. We aim to bring about a change at the grassroots through our efforts.

As a step in this direction, we provide research support and advocate the pioneering efforts of:

Our other efforts include:

Education in Rural India: Conversant advocates the importance of education in Rural India. We conduct workshops to promote the need of education. We release reports, articles, etc., to advocate the dire need of education in rural India.

Healthcare: Rural India is generally ignorant of issues related to health, either because of illiteracy or due to financial crunches. Conversant is actively involved in creating awareness among the rural people by conducting workshops and health related programmes for these people. We act as a channel between rural masses and different NGOs. These NGOs have come up with hospitals, created AIDS awareness, different vaccination programmes for rural people.

Livelihood/Micro finance: Conversant acts as a link between the rural masses and the NGOs. With the help of these NGOs, we have been able to make the rural people understand the significance of self-dependence and have gone a long way in empowering them through Self Help Groups and micro finance.

Media advocacy: Conversant acts as a forerunner in advocating the need and significance of NGOs. Advocating of NGO has two aspects involved. Firstly, projecting the NGOs before the funding agencies and, secondly, helping them in positioning themselves in media.
